Scents and Fragrances
Our standard collection of cold‑process soaps are scented exclusively with pure essential oils. For more information please see the “Essential Oils” section of our FAQ.
Our "Limited" collection features unique, one‑time‑only fragrances—often inspired by customer requests or creative experiments. When an essential‑oil equivalent isn’t available or we’re pursuing a playful new blend, we may use high‑quality fragrance oils. Rest assured, our fragrance standards remain unchanged:
- Free from phthalates, parabens, SLS, and SLES
- 100% vegan
- Cruelty‑free (never tested on animals)
We take great care to ensure every soap—whether scented with essential oils or fragrance oils—meets our rigorous commitment to safety, sustainability, and exceptional quality.
Essential Oils
Our cold-process soaps are formulated with low concentrations of pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils to ensure high quality and safety for most users. In rare cases—such as with rosemary oil—we use a standardized/commercial-grade version sourced for consistent aroma and performance.
However, because many essential oils lack comprehensive research on their effects during pregnancy (and nursing), we recommend that pregnant or breastfeeding individuals consult a qualified healthcare professional before use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. This information is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition.
Usage & Care Instructions
Wet the bar and work it between your hands or on a soft cloth to build a rich, cleansing lather, then rinse thoroughly. After each use, allow your soap to air-dry on a well-draining dish or soap lift to prevent sogginess. Store unused bars in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight and humidity, and if you have multiple bars, rotate them so each one fully dries between uses. Avoid direct contact with eyes—discontinue use if irritation occurs and consult a healthcare professional.
Shelf Life & Expiration
Unlike most store-bought soaps, which rely on synthetic detergents and chemicals, our bars are genuine cold-process soap made with natural ingredients. Properly stored, they’ll remain at peak quality for 6–12 months, but—as with all real soap—they can spoil over time. Keep bars in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight or excess humidity, and allow them to “breathe”. If in a box, leave it open or slightly ajar. Over time, the essential-oil fragrance may gently fade; significant discoloration or a faintly rancid odor indicates the soap has passed its prime and should be replaced.
Allergy & Safety Disclaimer
• For external use only. Not intended for ingestion.
• Our soaps use a blend of saponified oils (olive, coconut, avocado, shea butter, castor), essential oils, kaolin clay, pumice powder and—on select bars—activated charcoal.
• Known sensitivities? If you’re allergic to any of these (including nut-derived oils or specific essential oils), please review the full ingredient list on each bar’s page before purchasing. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
• Patch test first. Apply a small amount of soap lather to the inside of your forearm, wait 24 hours, and rinse—if you experience redness, itching or irritation, discontinue use.
• Avoid broken or sensitive skin. Bars containing pumice are exfoliating; do not use on cuts, abrasions or highly sensitive areas.
• Eye safety. Keep away from eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with cool water.
• Charcoal caution. Soaps with activated charcoal may temporarily stain light or porous surfaces—rinse sinks and tubs promptly.
• Pregnancy & medical conditions. If you are pregnant, nursing, under a doctor’s care, or have chronic skin conditions, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
